Training Excellence has been developed by CFE, a provider of high quality research, analysis and advice to organisations responsible for the current and future workforce. Based in Leicester and London and operating since 1997, CFE’s expertise is in understanding impact and how it’s achieved. The development of Training Excellence has drawn on that technical expertise as well as our deep understanding of the education, training and skills worlds.
Our role in Training Excellence is to champion and facilitate improvement, to inspire all those offering training in the workplace to pursue innovation and impact on customer needs. Our approach is focused on a robust, factual analysis of what makes for best practice in training delivery and distinctiveness in strategy. Our offer is of focused solutions to training organisations’ critical problems - helping them to cut out waste, find new opportunities and achieve higher performance.
Training Excellence is our toolkit. We use it to help training organisations better understand their current operations, but also to help them decide and act upon opportunities for sustained improvement and innovation. Our services - including improvement advice, facilitation and training - help training organisations to prioritise improvement goals, to innovate and reshape their ways of working, and to embed a performance culture.
CFE developed Training Excellence after a period of five years of partnering with Government in England to research, develop and operate the Training Quality Standard from 2006. In 2011, CFE has launched Training Excellence to build on and succeed TQS. The opportunity to create a new model - and to shift away from inspecting and onto improving - has allowed us to sharpen the tools we have available; Training Excellence is a much more focused, much more ambitious framework with which to test the best training organisations.
